🌿 Day 1: Cairo → Fayoum → Wadi El Rayan → Magic Lake → Valley of the Whales (Camping)

Morning meeting in Cairo and drive to Fayoum Oasis.

After lunch, continue to Wadi El Rayan (south of Fayoum) for a scenic desert nature experience.

Stops include:
Wadi El Rayan desert landscapes

Magic Lake (ideal for photos, especially near sunset)

Valley of the Whales (Wadi El Hitan) — world-famous fossil area

Overnight in a desert camp in Fayoum area.

🌴 Day 2: Fayoum → Bahariya Oasis (Local 4×4 Tour + Hotel Night)

After breakfast, drive toward Bahariya Oasis.

Arrive around lunchtime, then start a local 4×4 tour exploring Bahariya highlights such as:

					Where Silence Speaks: Six days as a solo traveller - Surrounded by endless dunes, fascinating rock formations and a sky full of stars, my trip to the Black and White Desert was the perfect escape from everyday life. 

I... read more spent six days exploring the desert as a female solo traveller with Mohamed, Mahmoud, Abed and Zihaza (our camel) hiking, camel riding and camping. During the day, I hiked through astonishing landscapes with Abed and Zihaza, met Mohamed and Mahmoud for a freshly prepared lunch, continued our hike and arrived at the carefully prepared camp site at around sunset. There, we had dinner and Bedouin tea before spending the night under an endless blanket of stars. Our route took us through an incredible variety of landscapes: Crystal Mountain, Agabat, small and big valley, Old and New White Desert, Djara cave and finally, the Black Desert. 

While I was free to immerse myself in the breathtaking landscapes, soak up the quiet and peace of the desert, Mohamed and his team took care of every detail. Their friendly, helpful and respectful manner made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the whole trip. My personal wishes and preferences were taken seriously, making the experience feel truly individual and tailored to me. I would like to emphasise the delicious food prepared every day: Mohamed put great value on fresh and diverse meals throughout the trip, from breakfast (my favourite: Kishk!) and light lunches to dinners featuring chicken, meat, duck or pigeon prepared over the fire – I am genuinely amazed by the Bedouin way of cooking!

I would recommend this incredible adventure to anyone looking for an authentic desert experience.

They gave us an amazing experience in the desert and made us love Egypt even more. In addition to visiting the beautiful landscapes, we enjoyed listening to Bedouin songs in the evening and joining in with their traditional Bedouin dancing. The atmosphere was truly wonderful.
